Garmin hat für einige GPSMAP Modelle ein interessantes Software-Update herausgebracht. Die Updates gelten für die Outdoor- und Marine-Modelle

Aus meiner Sicht ist insbesondere ein Punkt interessant:
Fixed issue where bearing line would not appear on map in CDI compass mode = Die Peilungslinie wurde im CDI-Kompassmodus nicht auf der Karte angezeigt
Die damit zusammenhängende Funktion wird sicherlich nur von wenigen Outdoorer*innen verwendet, ist aber für manche Einsatzbereiche elementar – da wundert es, dass Garmin dies erst jetzt behoben hat. Das GPSMAP 66s und das GPSMAP 66st sind immerhin schon seit 2018 auf dem Markt!
Ein Beispiel: Paddler*innen die einen Zeltplatz auf einer kleinen Insel ansteuern.
Dazu wird eine Luftlinien-Navigation gestartet, der Kompass befindet sich im Modus Zielfahrt-Linie/Zeiger = Kurs (CDI). Auf der Karte sollten dann beim Abweichen vom ursprünglichen Kurs zwei Linien zu sehen sein: eine Kurs- und eine Peilungslinie. Dies war bislang nicht der Fall, die Peilungslinie wurde schlichtweg nicht angezeigt. Das Update behebt diesen Fehler.
Die Installation erfolgt wie üblich über Garmin Express.
